The caption under the picture with this article isn't quite accurate, but it's probably what one would expect in relation to Marv and the 1962 Mets. It was taken on August 21st that year and Marv is coming home after hitting a three-run homer in the ninth inning to give the Mets a doubleheader split with the Pirates. Felix Mantilla (18) and Joe Christopher (23) also scored on the homer. The player wearing No. 6 in the photo is on-deck hitter Rick Herrscher.
