Whose idea was it to give this guy a contract? Was there something there that indicated he was miraculously going to have a big season? Sure, he can whip it up there at 97 MPH, but it's flat and straight and as we all know, any major league hitter can hit a fastball that is flat and straight. Kane's 7.07 ERA is proof of this. I tell you watching him pitch makes me think of guys like Jerry DiPoto or Anthony Young. Guys who were ever-turning-around...to see baseballs flying all over the ballpark. Now, of course, he's shelved for the remainder of the season and maybe that's not such a bad thing. Watching him pitch was often painful.

Kane Davis is pitching the 2003 season with the Camden Riversharks in the Atlantic League. I saw his name on the roster. This is where he belongs.

I spent quite a bit of time with Kane Davis last season in Miami. I won't go into a lot of detail, but I can say is this: this guy is a nut. I love him to death. He has a good arm, when he is healthy, and I wish him all the best of luck in the future. Kane has a wonderful sence of humor, and I can't say enough good stuff about this guy. "Hey Kane.. are ya gonna? are ya gonna??" All smiles, KT!

Don't be knockin on Kane. I know the guy kinda good by playing a lot of ball with him. He's a good relief pitcher but his injuries is hurting him. I see him every week just about and he's slowly working on that injury. Good luck to ya, Kane.

I did a double-take when I saw the name of Kane Davis in the wrap-up of last night's ballgames. He's with the Phillies now and took the loss. I didn't realize it, but he made it back last year, pitching in 15 games for the Brewers.

Judging by the numbers, he's still quite wild. But give him credit for hanging in there at age 32.
