The greatest baseball player in the history of Brookdale Community College. Kept himself employed for years as an effective pinch-hitter. If only he could get the current Mets to hit a bit more.

The Mets made a huge mistake ditching Denny this season. I think they were cowards using him as the sole responsibility for their decline in scoring and getting their name back in the spotlight. However, I certainly saw an improvement in the team since Den and Art teamed up. Let's face it. The Mets have not had a winning history in years! How can you honestly put the blame on ONE PERSON! Denny is a good, honest and hard working dedicated man. He was so admired and respected at Brookdale Community College. A born talented ball player. I wish him the best in his future endeavors.

An excellent professional hitter, Walling could not wake up the bats of the Mets multi-millionaires during his stint in Queens. I don't envy coaches in this day and age of lucrative guaranteed contracts for ballplayers. How do you tell those guys to shut up and listen? Walling was also a member of Art Howe's Houston fraternity. Theirs was a gloomy period in Mets history. Call it Mike Scott's Revenge, if you want.
