Terry played for the Mets at Auburn Class A in the New York Penn. State League in 1963. I played with Auburn in 1964. We both were from Richmond, Virginia, but we did not know each other. In 1965 we both were out of pro baseball and we both went to work for The DuPont Company. After several years when we were too old for baseball we both signed up to play on The DuPont Softball Team. We became great friends and enjoyed a lot of fun times together, at work and on the softball field. We enjoyed winning and going to the National Tournaments! When we first got home from pro baseball, they had the White Leagues and The Black Leagues. At the end of each season an all star team was chosen from each league and Jerome and I had pitched against each other before we knew our relationship as Mets! Jerome was my friend and a great guy!
