I've known Tom since 1993, when we roomed together briefly before he left to pitch for Norfolk. As an undrafted free agent, he made the most of his ability, advancing to Triple-A and even starting an exhibition game for the Orioles against Atlanta (in '95, I think). He made a steady advance through the Mets' system, and continued to be successful at every level until an arm injury ended his organized baseball career. He married a local girl whom he met in Binghamton in '92, and still lives in the Binghamton area to this day, staying involved with the game by coaching Little Leaguers, including his two sons. He's one of the best people you would ever want to meet, a great father, teacher, and person, and I'm proud to call him a friend.

I met Tom by being his double play partner in Muscatine, Iowa in Junior College. A great guy and I was very proud to see how far he advanced in pro ball. A great guy with a great family.

I worked with Tom at Saturn of Binghamton. Tom is the used car manager. I was the finance manager. Nice guy... great family man. I’m retired now but sure miss Tom and the gang at the Matthews Auto Group.
